Health Policy
Last updated: 29 September 2026
This Health Policy explains how StaqOn's optional Health features — Steps tracking and Calm mode — work, what data they use, and the rules for using them. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which continue to apply.
1. What the Health features do
StaqOn's Health features are optional wellbeing tools built into the StaqOn app. They are:
- Steps tracking — reads your daily step count from Android Health Connect or Apple HealthKit, lets you set a personal daily step goal, shows your progress and monthly history, and (if you choose to keep it on) includes you in a monthly leaderboard.
- Calm mode — a guided break screen with music and a visual, for stepping away from work briefly. Calm mode does not access any health data from your phone.
2. Health data we access and why
If you turn on Steps tracking, StaqOn requests read-only access to your step count through Android Health Connect (Android) or Apple HealthKit (iPhone). We access this data solely to power the Steps feature described above. We do not request, read, or store any other Health Connect/HealthKit data type — not heart rate, sleep, blood pressure, menstrual cycle data, or any other category.
We do not write any data back to Health Connect or HealthKit. Your step data is read from your phone and stored on StaqOn's own servers so it can be shown to you across sessions and devices.
3. The monthly leaderboard
The leaderboard ranks StaqOn users by the number of days each person met their own step goal in the current month. It shows only:
- your display name, and
- the number of days you met your goal.
It never shows your step count, your username, or any other data. It is visible only to other StaqOn users, never to anyone outside the platform, and it resets at the start of each month. Your ranking is based entirely on your own goal, which you set and can change at any time.
4. What we never do with this data
We never use step or health data for advertising, and we never sell it to any third party. We never use it to determine employment, insurance, or creditworthiness. We never share it with anyone outside StaqOn except as described in this policy.
5. Turning Steps tracking off
You can turn Steps tracking off at any time from the Health section of the StaqOn app. Turning it off stops any further reading of your step data. Step history already recorded is retained under the same terms as Section 5 of our Privacy Policy, and you may request its deletion at any time through our Data Deletion process.
6. Not a medical device
StaqOn's Health features are wellbeing tools, not medical devices. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition, and they should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice. If you have concerns about your health, please consult a qualified healthcare provider.
7. Who can use these features
StaqOn is intended for people aged 18 and over, consistent with our main Privacy Policy. If you believe a child has used the Health features, please contact us using the details below and we will address it.
